Dr. Pieper is a builder of programs to support economic development and entrepreneurial ecosystems, with specializations in international trade, innovation, and working with underserved communities. She has served as the Assistant State Director of the Kansas SBDC, VP of Entrepreneurship and Small Business for GO Topeka, Director of the Business Resources for Innovation, Technology, and Exporting at the Washburn University SBDC, and Tech Director for America’s SBDC Iowa. She has been a Certified Global Business Professional since 2017 and is on the Board of Governors of NASBITE International. Laurie earned her doctorate at UCLA. 

April Chiang is the Assistant Director of the International Division at the Kansas Department of Commerce, where she manages trade, investment, and foreign affairs projects between for Kansas. With over 20 years of experience in this role, she is an accomplished international business executive with a strong background in operations, business development, public relations, and government affairs.
